Please introduce yourself and the band members briefly?
My name is Luis Zarco I’m the guitarist
Manuel Fuckin’ Metal is the singer
Fernando Trejo is the bass guitar player
Óscar Ibarra is the drummer
Ricardo Rodríguez the keyboard player
What does the band name mean and how do you get it?
It’s composed by two words: “Star” becasuse personally, I love stars and
everything about the space, because the is majestic, beautiful and
powerful and also because I composed a song named Star for my
previous band and is one of my favorite compositions.
In other hand the word "Fire" represents rage, pureness, love, passion,
spirit, hate, soul and a lot of things wich represents perfectly the human
feelings. An the word "Starfire" I think involves everithing we want to
transmit to the people and I think the name sounds nice (hahaha)
Where and how was the band founded?
The band was founded in Mexico City by myself, at first, just as an studio
project but then, I decided to create a band and invite some members to
perform live
Have you played in other bands before?
Yes, I did and the other guys too:
Me, in Ignis
Manuel in Psicofonía (current band)
Fernando in Guarnerius
Óscar in Guarnerius
Ricardo in Sirius
Was it hard to find suitable band members who fit musically and humanely
with the band?
Yes, it was, fortunatelly, I found them, amazing guys, professional
musicans and cool metalheads
What does the band name mean?
A light in the darkest sky (as a metaphor of hope in the hardest moments
of our lives)
What are the lyrics about and who of you is writing them?
I wrote all lyrics and they are about freedom, faith, hope, togetherness
and respect
Which bands inspired you and how would you describe your music to
someone who has never heard a sound from you?
Helloween, Gamma Ray, Rhapsody (of Fire), Stratovarius and much
more..I like to describe our music as the sum of melody, power and
energy and the results is assimilable chorus, positive lyrics and potience
since the beginning until the end of each song
Why should people listen to our music?
Nice question, I'm not sure about the answer, I just know that there are a
lot of talent people out there, but, I just can say that all my passion is
inside of each note, I think somewhere there are guys and girls looking for
honest music with quality, I think we can offer it them
In 2018 you released the six track ep Ray of Infinite Light. How long did
the production last and who help you?
I started In July 2015 and finished at November 2017. It took long time
because as I mentioned in a previous question, the original idea was to be
an studio project, so the voice was recoreded by a session singer, once I
decided I wanted to perform live, this guy couldn´t stay with me and I had
to record again all song with other singer (Manuel) so, as you can see, it
was very hard to find him (hahaha) Gian Granados and Dante Granados
from the band Anima Tempo collaborated with me in the production
Are you already working on new songs and when do you think there will
be a complete album of yours?
Yes, we are working in new songs but in this moment we are focused in
our debut Ep wich was released just in digital format as a preliminary
launching, we are about to launch it in physical format as well and we will
improve the promotion and also we are booking some shows to promote
the Ep and the band.
