Please introduce yourself and the band members briefly? My name is Maurice I’m the guitarist of Angelic Forces together with Harold de Vries (vocals and guitar), Wilco v/d Meij (bass) and RudieKingma (drums) What does the band name mean and how do you get it? The name Angelic Forces comes from the Deliverance song „Slay the wicked“ and it’s  about the forces from heaven fighting the forces of evil. Where and how was the band founded? The band was founded in the summer of 2015. Wilco was looking for some musicians to form a Heavy metal band. Very soon he found Rudie and Harold, but was still looking for a guitarist. I found his add on the internet and wrote him that I was interested to join and play the guitars. Have you played in other bands before? Yes I did actually, I played in several bands also different styles, but mainly Metal! Was it hard to find suitable band members who fit musically and humanely with the band? When we first met up and started playing, magic happened. We fit very welltogether, musically as well as personal. What does the band name mean? The name Angelic Forces means: an army of angels fighting against evil in the heavenly realms. What are the lyrics about and who of you is writing them ? Our lyrics are about: Faith, hope, doubt and spiritual warfare. There a sumthat I wrote, but Harold writes most of the lyrics. Which bands inspired you and how would you describe your music to someone who has never heard a sound from you? Wow, there are not just one or two bands who inspired me and us, it’s more a decade of Metal. I love to listen to bands like Dokken, Ratt and Crimson Glory, mainly American metal, but I also like Saxon, Accept and Warlock. So our music is a mixture of 80’s metal, and that’s how I would describe it to people who has never heard our sound. Your mini cd unfortunately contains only three songs! Do you still have songs in the backhand and when can you expect a full album? Yeah man, we have more songs and hope to record an album in the future. We don’t have a record label, this means that we have to pay the studio and all of it by ourselves, so it takes time because we don’t have the money…ha, ha, ha, very sad, but that’s how it is right now! What were your live highlights and with which bands did you play? That would be the Rock Alive festivals 2016 and 2018 where we played together with bands like: War of Ages, Slechtvalk and Leviticus. Which band would you like to play live with and why? Any Heavy metal band from the 80’s would be great:Stryper, W.A.S.P., Accept, you name it. You wanne know why? just because they are our hero’s and they have inspired us all! It would be a honor. If you had the opportunity to play a big tour with the band Deicide  , would you go on tour here? Or do you think that image is played at a band like  Deicide  ? First of all, I don’t think they would have us on the tour, but if they do, we would defiantly go! It’s always good to bring a little light into the darkness ha, ha, ha..! You ask me if their image is played? I do hope so, but when you mark yourself with an inverted cross on your forehead, it seems pretty serious to me. Have already resulted in friendship ? With other band you mean? Yes we did. Especially when you play festivals you got in contact with many bands. With most of those bands we met on the festivals we are good friends. With what do you earn your money except with the music? I got my own Rock school were we teach our pupils to play all kind of instruments that are rock related.  How important are social media for you as a band? Very important, the range you got with social media is enormous. In the early days it was much more difficult to get exposure, now it’s only one mouse click away. CD reviews, You Tube and interviews like this, it’s all thanks to social media. What would you (her) want to achieve with the band? We want to reach as many as possible with our music. A record deal would be awesome and play with our hero’s on stages al around the world. Maybe you can recommend some bands from your area? I would recommend the bands: Burning and Steel Shock. Both bands play old school Heavy metal like we do! Also Methusalem, the band our bass player Wilco participates at. Now I have some personal questions ! Where did you grow up and how was your childhood? I grow up in the north of the Netherlands with my brothers and sister and had a very good childhood. How was your school time you were rather the good student or the break clown ? To be honest, I hated school. I was a dreamer, actually I still am, ha, ha. I was always busy with drawing instead of learning. Later on the drawing changed into playing my guitar. So school was not my cup of tea. How did your parents react when you started making metal music? Did they support you and how do you feel about your music today? In the beginning the hated it, but later on when I started to play in bands the begin to like it. My mom I a huge fan of Angelic Forces and comes to almost every gig that we play! Would you be successful in making music as a musician? I don’t know, it also has to do with a lot of luck and meting the right people. Are you someone who loves the hustle and bustle of the big city? Or rather looking for peace and relaxation in nature? I’m a real city slicker, but I love to go into the nature from time to time! Are you a very believing person and can your faith in life help you? Yes I am a Christian and go to church on Sunday. My trust in the Lord gives my peace and the Bible is my guidance in life and it helps me to stay on the right track. Do you actively practice sports or are you more of a passive spectator? No sports for me, not even a spectator. I do not like it. When it comes to your physical well you can cook or let you cook for you ? Actually, I’m the cook at my home. I love to cook and my family likes it too! It gives my time to be alone and think while I’m preparing diner. What does your environment tell you about your passion for metal (friends / family / colleagues) ? Well, my wife does not like Metal at all, some of my kids do like Metal, but they all support me and let me enjoy my passion for Metal! How do you see the problem with the haters on the internet who have to announce their mental garbage in anonymity always and everywhere? I hate that and it makes me sad. There are so many bigmouths on the internet. They are hero’s behind their pc, but in real life the look away and be silent.  What do you think about the internet in general? A blessing or a curse? A little of both. Yes it is a blessing because you can reach so many people from all over the world and there is so much to be found on the internet in a positive. And it’s a curse because there are no limits for people who are bad willing and again, there is so much to be found on the internet in a negative way. What would you personally like to do in your life? Enjoying a long holiday with my family! Which question would you like to have answered and why? No questions, not yet. What comes around go’s around. Netherlands My fatherland and land of birth Austria Amazingmountains, friendly people! Soccer with Germany Sorry, don’t like soccer. Crimson Glory or Helloween Crimson Glory Iron Maiden or Accept Accept Poffertjes Dutch treat, like it a lot Heineken Dutch pride! Dokken - Back for the Attack Fifth Angel - Fifth Angel Crimson Glory - Crimson Glory Warlock - True as Steel Malice - License to Kill The closing word is yours? Always be yourself and be proud! Stay on the right track and never give up what you belief in! Raise your fist for Metal and God bless you all
